About The Show

Tru Calling is a show on the FOX network airing Thursday's at 8 PM centering around medical student Tru Davies and her job at the city morgue. Tru (Eliza Dushku) lost her mother as a young girl. At the funeral her mother told her she did not blame Tru for being unable to help her. Throughout her early life, Tru's father was largly absent. She did well in high school, running track, and went on to be pre-med in college. After graduating she was to start an internship at a hospital but as luck would have it, the job was canceled. She ended up with a job at the city morgue, working with her boss Davis (Zach Galifianakis) on the graveyard shift weighing the bodies and taking other measurments. On her first night and first body the deceased opened her eyes and said to Tru, "Help me." Tru then wakes up starting that entire day over again racing to stop this young woman from dying long before her time. It doesn't happen every day, but at times Tru is called upon to help those who are not yet supposed to die. And while doing so she also aims to help her best friend Lindsay (A.J. Cook), troubled but sweet brother Harrison (Shawn Reaves) and drug addicted sister Meredith (Jessica Collins).

Tru soon found herself with an adversary, Jack Harper (Jason Priestley). Jack too relived days. The difference being that Jack thinks that fate needs to not be changed. He works against Tru, trying to preserve fate and keep her from saving people he believes need to stay dead.
